ICE Service
Build Entrepreneurial Capacity through Bespoke Training
Sampark, Non-Government Organisation, INDIA
Background
Sampark is an organisation working towards poverty reduction and women’s empowerment. Through a peer lending scheme they have supported over 6000 women to set up new businesses, leading to a requirement to provide more intensive business support to enable these companies to grow beyond their start-up phase. The support team in Karnataka consulted ICE for help with building their entrepreneurial capacity.
New Insights into Enterprise & Entrepreneurship
Through working with ICE, outreach workers and business advisers were able to assess the performance of companies they had previously supported, and to tailor a development programme that would enable their future growth.
Impact
The Sampark team developed a deeper understanding of factors associated with business growth, which was then invested into both start-up and growth businesses.
