Background

IFC World bank aspired to engage with a greater proportion of women when delivering a business growth programme for SMEs  across the Middle East.

New Insights into Enterprise & Entrepreneurship

IFC World Bank consulted ICE to implement a progrramme to support the organisation to improve their connections with women entrepreneurs, as well as a broader communications project including: providing guidance materials on understanding gender issues in supporting women in business; designing a case study process for identifying the training needs of women business owners in Yemen; highlighting the respective strengths and weaknesses of focus groups and case interviews as market research tools.

Impact

Greater awareness amongst IFC trainers of the needs of growth businesses led by women, and how to engage with them more effectively.
